A popular South Indian delicacy is tomato pulao, a delicious main meal. It is prepared in practically every South Indian home and is suitable for brunch, lunch, and dinner. This rich and satisfying pulao only requires a few basic kitchen staples to prepare. Without their renowned tadka, South Indian cuisine are lacking. The ingredients in a typical South Indian tadka include mustard seeds, curry leaves, and chana dal. This tadka gives the food a unique scent in addition to improving the taste. A few peanuts and cashews have been included in the preparation of this tomato pulao dish to increase its richness. Don't forget to add freshly cut coriander leaves as a garnish at the conclusion of the dish to enhance the flavours even more.

Ingredients

  1. 4 cup basmati rice
  2. 3 onion
  3. 3 tomato
  4. 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  5. 1 teaspoon chana dal
  6. 2 tablespoon chopped ginger
  7. 1/4 cup raw peanuts
  8. 14 cup cashews
  9. 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
  10. 3 stalks curry leaves
  11. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  12. 1/3 teaspoon turmeric
  13. 2 tablespoon ghee
  14. 4 tablespoon refined oil
  15. salt as required
  16. 4 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

  1. Put rice in a sizable bowl. Once under running water after three to four thorough washes. Now fill a pot with 8 cups of water and bring it to a boil. When all the water has been absorbed and evaporated, add the rice to the pot and continue cooking.
  2. In a pan, heat refined oil. Add the chopped ginger, chana dal, and mustard seeds. Spend a minute sautéing them. Add the peanuts and stir until they are cooked. Cashew nuts, curry leaves, and asafoetida are now added. Well combine all the components.
  3. Add the chopped onions, stir, and cook until golden brown. Add the salt to taste along with the diced tomatoes now. Tomatoes should be cooked for 6 to 8 minutes, or until mushy.
  4. Add the turmeric powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder at this point and simmer for one minute. Add desi ghee last to give the masala a great flavour and aroma.
  5. Now include cooked rice and finely chopped coriander into the tomato masala. Mix thoroughly, then turn off the heat after the final minute of cooking.
