An average person starts feeling hungry within 2 to 3 hours of having a meal. However, this hunger is not as compelling and remarkable as the hunger that one feels just before having one of the three meals of the day. Snacking on some light snacks is enough to satiate one's mind and stomach during this time. Chips and different types of packaged snacks are one of the top choices of a lot of people when it comes to snacking in between meals. These packaged options save the effort of preparing a quick snack on one's own.

 The best part is that the snacks are generally quite inexpensive and tasty. However, what most people don't know is that, even though the snacks are tasty and cheap, they're extremely unhealthy for the body. Most of these chips are deep fried in low-quality oil and are full of trans fat, and high sodium. Having these chips once in a blue moon is alright, but one should avoid their consumption regularly. Here are some healthier alternatives for deep-fried and preservative-rich chips.

* Zucchini Chips

Zucchini chips can be made by using absolutely zero oil at home. One has to simply cut zucchini into thin slices and season. These thinly cut pieces of zucchini are seasoned with some salt and then placed one by one in a nonstick pan. These chips have to be cooked on low heat until they become crunchy from both sides. One can sprinkle some oregano on the top of these chips just before eating them.
