Sattvic masalas are those old Indian spices that were part of a strict ayurvedic diet. These still exist in the Indian kitchen, but now they often get paired with non-sattvic foods, taking away from the core benefits they bring into your health and lifestyle. A sattvic meal is healthy and light on your stomach. It is vegetarian, fresh, filled with nutrients and healthy. The idea behind a sattvic diet is to help enable you to live life in a calm, happy, healthy state of mind with an energy that comes from within your core.

Mr Amit Juneja, CEO and MD Annakoot by ISKCON Bangalore, shares five sattvic spices available in every Indian kitchen.
