Only a few of the massive variety of Arabic foods available have flooded the international market. Among them, is the delectable non-vegetarian wrap called shawarma. While the history of shawarma is a little blurry, it is believed to be close to the Turkish doner. It was introduced to the Arab world during the Ottoman empire.
However, history is not what gives these wraps their flavour. The juicy meat and the blend of spices and sauces which are unique to the Arabic culture bring its mouth-watering flavour. The inner blend is wrapped in either pita or laffa bread.
