With the monsoon and the festive season in full swing, August is the month when most restaurants launch their new menus. From coastal Kerala and Goa to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, chefs are working with what's in season and figuring out what to cook with it. You'll notice lighter dishes, more vegetables hitting the menu, and plenty of experiments, some good, some worth skipping. You've got people doing new takes on old street food classics, fine dining spots trying out new concepts, and everything in between. UNO Izakaya, JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru

Forget everything you thought you knew about Japanese cocktails. Hidden behind the doors of UNO Izakaya's speakeasy-inspired den is a bar programme that pushes far beyond yuzu and whisky highballs. Order the Miso Manhattan for a savoury take on the classic, or The Golden Koi, where Gin, Sake, passion fruit and wasabi come together. There's also the Silent Bloom Negroni, a refined pour of clarified Campari, Gin and Lillet Blanc, alongside a thoughtfully curated Sake list spanning Honjozo, Junmai Ginjo and Nigori expressions. The bar's ingredient-led approach finds an easy companion on the menu too, with dishes such as the Hamachi Kombujime, the Shake Ceviche, and the Gindara Misozuke.

The Monsoon Edition at Yazu celebrates the dishes that feel made for the rain. With comforting favourites like Paitan Ramen Bowl and Kimchi Ramen Bowl, the menu is the perfect companion to Bengaluru’s rain-soaked evenings. Some signature dishes also include Truffle Crab Salmon Aburi Roll, Hot & Cold Roll, and Crispy Fried Banana Tempura. As for the seasonal cocktails, you sip on their Japanese Toddy, First Drop, and Velvet Brew.

Indian Accent

Indian Accent Mumbai has introduced its new Monsoon Tasting Menu that celebrates India's diverse regional traditions, seasonal ingredients and the pleasure of gathering around a memorable meal. The experience begins with Kadhi Kachori, Delhi Papdi Chaat, and Pao Bhaji. The menu continues with dishes like Meat Ka Karela, Dry Aged Duck, and Tawa Crab. The vegetarian menu features Churan Ka Karela, Goat's Cheese Kabab, Monsoon Corn Khees, Green Jackfruit, and more. For the mains, guests can choose between Smoked Chicken Kabab or Market Fish Cutlet. Vegetarian options feature Wild Mushroom Tikka or Green Jackfruit. These are complemented by Indian Accent's signature Black Dairy Dal, Indian Accent Kulcha, and Laal Saag Raita. The seasonal desserts like Lucknow Doodh Jalebi and Qatlama are the perfect way to end the meal.

ITC Grand Central, Mumbai, is welcoming the season with its limited-period Monsoon Tea Tales. The specially curated experience showcases a selection of timeless teatime favourites, including Masala Chai, Onion and Potato Fritters, Khari Biscuits, Butter Toast, and Bun Maska. Thoughtfully crafted as a set menu for two, each item is freshly prepared and served in generous portions, creating a wholesome and satisfying monsoon indulgence.

The Deli

Designed around everyday mood occasions, the new menu at The Deli brings together dishes that complement different moments throughout the day. For a quick Mood Lifter, guests can enjoy the Breakfast Protein Bowl or the Egg Salad Bagel before heading into work. The Feel Good section features favourites like the Vitality Bowl, Naked Cracker Crust Pizza and the Balsamic Beet & Burrata Salad. When it's Time to Meet Friends, the Rustic Grazing Board encourages sharing and conversation, while comforting dishes, including the Half Roast Chicken, Pork Belly Curry, and House Baked Ciabatta. And for those moments that call for a little indulgence, The Deli's Treat Yourself selection features the Lemon Chilli Salmon, Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Sandwich, and the decadent Tiramisu Affogato, perfect for ending the day on a high note.
