India's love for ice cream is a delightful tale of a frozen treat melting hearts across the diverse subcontinent. Recently, online portal Taste Atlas released a list of the top 100 places in the world and the must-try ice creams you should know and among them, 5 Indian brands made the list.
First was K. Rustom & Co. with their Mango Ice Cream Sandwich. This iconic spot has been around since 1953 and offers a vast array of delicious flavours to choose from. Kids, college students and adults alike flock to Rustoms for a taste of nostalgia.
Next up was another old-school favourite, Pabba's in Mangalore. Established in 1975, Pabba’s changed the game with their Gadbad ice cream which combines many ice cream flavours with, fruits, nuts, and syrups, resulting in a delightful and visually appealing treat.
Everyone’s neighbourhood got-to Naturals was next on the list and since 1984, they’ve been serving up a range of delicious flavours, all made without any chemicals or preservatives, Their iconic coconut ice cream was the flavour in the spotlight, a clean, fresh taste that is a go-to for most regulars.
Apsara Ice Creams was next on the list for capturing one of India’s most beloved street food snacks, Guava with chilli powder. The classic taste of peru sprinkled with salt and chilli is enough to make anyone’s mouth water and this flavour has made Apsara famous, earning it a place in the top 100.
Next up was Bengaluru's iconic Corner House Ice Cream, established in 1982. This spot holds a special place in the hearts of Bengaluru's dessert enthusiasts but among its delightful array of treats, the undoubted star is the legendary "Death by Chocolate." Far beyond a mere ice cream flavour, this decadent sundae is a heavenly ensemble of cake, ice cream, luscious chocolate sauce, crunchy nuts, and crowned with a succulent cherry on top.
