Microwave Potato Chips: Quick, Easy and Yummy

Be it an impromptu get-together or mid-day craving, potato chips just hit the spot right. Potato chips may look simple but are quite versatile. We cannot disagree that potato chips are very addictive. Those who once start loving potato chips, tend to snack on it again and again. Made in different sizes and shapes as well as topped with different seasonings, potato chips are loved also because of their easy availability.  But there are some people who refrain from enjoying potato chips deep-fried in too much oil. Also, these potato chips are known to be high in calories and fat and thus, something a health freak would avoid eating. If this is your case, did you ever get a chance to try baked potato chips? Made in microwave, these potato chips are perfectly crispy, crunchy and involve little oil usage. The best part is they are very easy to make. Wanna know how to make crispy potato chips in a microwave? Here you go! 



  • 2 to 3 potatoes (large) 
  • 2 tbsp canola oil (You can also take olive oil) 
  • Salt to taste 
  • A parchment paper 


  • First, slice the potatoes thinly and put them into cold water. Rinse them properly. 
  • After taking off starch from the potato slices, clean dry the slices. Make sure that the potato slices are properly dry, 
  • Take parchment paper and place it in a microwave safe place.  
  • Now, brush some oil on the parchment paper and start placing the potato chips.  
  • Keep them some distance between the potato slices. 
  • Brush some oil over the potato slices too and bake them in a microwave for 3 minutes. 
  • Then, flip the chips for 3 more minutes until they are brown and crispy. 
  • When done, transfer the chips into a bowl and add salt over the. You can add seasoning of your choice. 
  • Let it cool and serve!
