Make Your Home Desserts Gourmet With These 5 Recipes

Mostly when we feel like eating a fancy dessert we often think of ordering it from the outside. But have you ever wondered about baking it at your own house and saving so much of your money? While the fear of not making the dish exactly like the way it tastes from your favourite restaurant might stop you, do not hold yourself back. Here are some simple recipes that you can use to make all the fancy and expensive desserts at home instead of ordering them from the outside. 

1. Cheesecake

Cheesecake is very simple to make at home. A full-size cheesecake from the outside might cost you somewhere from Rs.1500 to Rs. 2000 easily. But what if we tell you that you can make the same cheesecake at your home by spending just one-fourth of the cost of ordering it from the outside? Yes, you heard it right. To make a cheesecake you need some crushed digestive biscuits. If you want to go for some other variety like Oreo or Biscoff then you have the liberty to do so. Now take some cream cheese and whipped cream in a bowl. Whisk it with a blender for at least five minutes. Take a wide rectangular pan and secure crushed biscuits inside that pain. Now pour your cream cheese and whipped cream mixture on the top. Set it smoothly. You can top it off with any topping of your choice including Nutella or blueberry jam. Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least two hours.


2. Rasmalai

Rasmalai is a very popular Indian dessert that is found on the menu of most occasions of celebration. But to have Rasmalai you do not have to wait for an occasion anymore as you can prepare it at your home by following a simple recipe. To make Rasmalai buy some white rasgullas from the market. If you want, you can also prepare rasgullas at home. Now put some milk in a pan and let it heat for some time. Add kesar and sugar syrup to the milk and let it cook on low flame. Now add some cardamom powder and chopped almonds to it. After some time when you feel your milk is cooked properly, add half-cut pieces of Rasgulla and let them soak the mixture. Your Rasmalai will be ready within 20 minutes.

3. Chocolate cake

Who doesn't like eating a chocolate cake? To make a chocolate cake you need 250 g of all-purpose flour, 3 to 4 eggs, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, one cup of butter, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and powdered sugar. Mix all the ingredients and put them in a cake pan. You can put the mixture in a microwave or also in a pressure cooker as per availability to cook the cake. Let the cake cook for 35 to 40 minutes. After it is properly cooked let the cake rest for some time. Now take it out of the pan and put some melted chocolate and dry fruits on top of it.

4. Tiramisu

After becoming a big hit in the West, Tiramisu has slowly become equally popular in India. You can expect to pay as high as Rs.1000 for  a single slice of tiramisu at a lot of famous restaurants. Instead of paying so much money for a single slice, you can use this simple recipe to make tiramisu at home without using any eggs or alcohol. You have a choice to use either biscuits for a sponge cake as your days. Using biscuits is a quick way of making a tiramisu. 

To make authentic tiramisu you must use mascarpone cheese. This is a soft, creamy and light cheese that is sweet. You can make this by using whipped cream. Now take some fresh cream that has at least 25% fat content. Now take a greased pan and heat. It is put at least 50 minutes at 200°C. Take your sponge cake or crushed biscuits and level them up on the pan. Now add your cheese and cream on the top of the biscuits. Take another layer of cake and keep it on top of your cheese and cream. Now repeat the process of layering, cheese and cream. Your layered tiramisu cake will be prepared in a very short time.

5. Strawberry Ice Cream

Ice cream is a very dynamic dessert that can be consumed all by itself and also with other desserts like waffles or brownies. Instead of eating store-bought ice cream that is full of preservatives, you can simply make it at home. To make the ice cream, you need heavy whipping cream, strawberries, honey, sugar and vanilla extract. You can also use some lemon juice. Take chopped strawberries in a bowl. Now mix the strawberries with sugar, honey and lemon juice. Allow the mixture to rest for 15 minutes. once the mixture absorbs everything, mash it with a master or a spoon. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract to the mixture. Now let it freeze in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 5 hours. Remember, you must eat it fresh because it doesn't have a longer shelf life.
