Super delicious chicken breast tenders brimming with all of our favourite vibrant Greek spices (the secret is in the marinade we talk about later.) Warm up some pita to transport the chicken, then add some tzatziki sauce, and veggies to make your chicken gyros. One of the things that really sets this chicken gyro recipe apart is how quickly it comes together, making it a wholesome dinner any night of the week. No, you don't have to light the grill, though you can if you wish. However, you may simply cook the chicken in a skillet or bake it in the oven.

Ingredients-

 Marinated chicken

 Pita bread

 Tomato and cucumber salad

 Tzatziki

 Olive Oil

 Olives

How To Marinade Chicken?

Here are the ingredients for the marinade. There is an abundance of garlic and dried oregano. Yoghurt is a miraculous marinade since it is a great flavour transporter and tenderises the chicken. The secret ingredient in this dish is yoghurt. The acid in the yoghurt dissolves the fibres, softening the chicken while also allowing the marinade to penetrate the flesh. Furthermore, the yoghurt makes this marinade "paste-like," so it stays smeared on the chicken throughout cooking (unlike many marinades that are thin). As a result, you have more flavour.

Method-

1. Make the marinade first. Combine the Greek yoghurt, garlic, spices, lemon juice, and olive oil in a mixing bowl. To ensure that everything is well blended, use a spoon or a whisk.

2. Combine the chicken with the Greek yoghurt marinade. Toss the chicken with a pair of tongs to ensure that all of the pieces are well-coated in the marinade. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, covered. (Alternatively, do this step the night before and refrigerate overnight.)

3. When you're ready, heat a little amount of extra virgin olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until the oil shimmers (but doesn't smoke). Add the chicken (make sure you shake the excess marinade off). Cook for 5 minutes on one side until well browned, then flip and cook for 5 minutes more, or until chicken is thoroughly done. (Resist the urge to stir the chicken as it cooks; you want a nice colour on these tenders.)

4. Assemble the delectable gyros. Warm your pitas and spread some delicious handmade tzatziki sauce on top. Top with sliced veggies and olives and a couple of slices of your lovely Greek chicken.
