And today, we have come across one such unique sweet of Maharashtra that looks like a flower garland. Yes, you heard it right. This unique mithai is colloquially called ‘gathi’ and is primarily made with sugar syrup. Take a look at it yourself:

This video was uploaded by food blogger Amar Sirohi, who goes by the username @foodie_incarnate on Instagram. The blogger recently took to his YouTube channel to post about this delectable and visually appealing mithai of Maharashtra. In the video, we can see the halwai preparing a thick sugar syrup. This syrup is then divided into two parts. One part of this syrup was given an orange colour using food colours and the other part was left as it is. Both the coloured and the plain syrup are poured into flower moulds made up of iron and then removed once they have attained the shape and crystallised. These crystallised syrup flowers are then attached to strings to make garlands.

The blogger said in the video that the mithai is available in almost all parts of Maharashtra. These mithais are popularly savoured during Holi and Gudi Padwa. The shop that is shown in the video is in Nashik. The video has garnered over 176k views, 7.9k likes and many appreciative comments from netizens across the country. Here are some of them:
