You might have had so many dishes and desserts made up of rice but have you had rice cream? Rice cream is an ice cream made up of rice. Sounds weird but it tastes delicious. It looks like vanilla ice cream and tastes heavenly. Besides, it just requires minimal ingredients and takes not much time other than the freezing one. In layman’s language, we can also call it frozen kheer and kheer is always delicious. There is hardly a person who can say no to kheer. There are many people who prefer to have kheer chilled. So those people, this rice cream is everything you need.  This frozen concoction of rice, sugar, milk, cream, and condensed milk will make you go drool over this desi ice cream. Though it doesn’t require many ingredients, you may add more if you want.

Follow these simple steps and have this rice cream down your throat. Have a look at the ingredients and method. 

Ingredients

  • 100 gm boiled rice
  • 50 gm sugar
  • 150 gm milk
  • 200 gm whipped cream
  • 30 gm condensed milk
  • Chopped almonds to garnish

Method

  • Take boiled rice into a bowl
  • Add sugar and milk
  • Grind the mixture and make it a coarse paste
  • Take another bowl and add whipped cream
  • Whisk the cream properly and add condensed milk
  • Whisk until soft peaks
  • Now add the rice paste into the cream and mix well
  • When done, transfer the mixture into a bowl
  • Let it freeze overnight
  • The next day, take it out and scoop out the rice cream
  • Garnish with almonds
  • Serve chilled
