The British Royal Family Visits Darjeeling Express

On the 26th of February 2025, Their Majesties graced Darjeeling Express, the culinary haven for Indians in the United Kingdom. Founded by Asma Khan, the British-Indian chef, Darjeeling Express was preparing meals for local families and frontline workers.

In the recently shared video on X and Instagram, joining Asma Khan and her team, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were seen packing dates. In the video, Chef Asma Khan expressed her admiration for the royal couple's enthusiasm and efficiency. She humorously noted, "I didn't realise the King would be so fast. You are packing them faster than I can seal them!" King Charles, with his characteristic wit, responded, "I don't waste time."

Apart from packing dates, the Kind and Queen also helped make biryani, a staple for the celebration of Ramadan, in the kitchen of Darjeeling Express. As per reports, these meals were being prepared to donate to a London-based organisation, Doorstep.
