Poppy To Dalia: Mouth-Watering Kheer Recipes You Must Try At Home

Aren't you fond of devouring something sweet after a meal? Well, I was born with a sweet tooth, and therefore, I don't mind having gulab jamun, barfi or rasgulla or after my meals. But, my favourite is kheer, and whenever I talk of it, I feel like having it. Hey, wait! Are you thinking of that traditional rice pudding? Nah! I like a fusion of everything, and hence I have varieties of kheer.  So, please read this article thoroughly because today I will tell you very easy to make three types of kheer recipes. So, what are you waiting for?

POPPY PUDDING (KHUS-KHUS KHEER)

Ingredients

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Coconut - 2 tsp grated
  3. Poppy seeds - 1 cup
  4. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  5. Cashew - 2 tsp
  6. Raisins - 2 tsp
  7. Milk - 2 litres 
  8. Ghee - 3 tsp

How to make poppy pudding?

  1. Soak poppy seeds and almonds overnight in the water.
  2. The next day, take out the skin of the almonds and grind them with poppy seeds finely.
  3. Now boil milk on medium heat in a pan. After boiling, add poppy seeds, sugar, almonds, cardamom powder and cook till it becomes thick.
  4. Now, put ghee in a pan, fry cashews lightly, put them in the kheer, and turn off the gas by stirring once.

MAKHANA KHEER

Ingredients

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Dry fruits - 2 tsp
  3. Makhana - 1 cup
  4. Cashew - 2 tsp
  5. Sugar - 1 cup
  6. Ghee - 2 tsp
  7. Milk - 1 litre

How to make makhana kheer?    

  1. First, heat ghee in a pan, fry makhana and cashew nuts on medium flame until they turn brown.
  2. Now boil milk, sugar and makhana in another vessel. Occasionally stir so that it doesn't burn and simmer until it thickens.
  3. When the milk becomes thick, add roasted cashew nuts, cardamom powder, dry fruits and boil it well.
  4. Tasty makhana kheer is ready to serve. 

OATMEAL PUDDING (DALIA KHEER)

Ingredients

  1. Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  2. Wheat porridge - 1 cup 
  3. Dry fruits - 2 tsp
  4. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  5. Cashew - 2 tsp
  6. Milk - 2 litres

How to make oatmeal pudding? 

  1. First of all, heat ghee in a vessel, fry the dalia, dry fruits till they turn golden and keep them aside.
  2. Now put milk and pulses in another container and boil it well.
  3. After a while, add sugar, cardamom powder, dry fruits, and cook it well until thick.
  4. Serve it on a plate by garnishing cashew nuts on top.
