International Beer Day: Mixologists Share Cocktail Recipes

Celebrated on the first Friday of August, International Beer Day is more than an excuse to raise a toast to one of the most beloved beverages. From sharing some of your deepest secrets whilst sitting at a pub to celebrating Friday nights with your loved ones, a pint of beer has some of the lowest and happiest moments of your life.

So, to shake things up a little, why don’t you shake beer with some of your favourite ingredients, quite literally? Because aren’t beer-based cocktails just the perfect way to commemorate the globally celebrated day? And if you don’t know where to start, just follow these mixologist-special cocktail recipes and celebrate International Beer Day the right way.

Booze Mary By Mixologist Ching Lamngaiching At Aldila, Conrad Pune

Ingredients:

  • Cayenne Pepper- ½ tsp
  • Lime Juice- 15ml
  • Worcestershire Sauce- 2 dashes
  • Tabasco- 2 dashes
  • Black Pepper
  • Lager Beer- 330ml

Method:

  1. In a mixing glass, add lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, cayenne pepper, and cracked black pepper.
  2. Stir gently to blend the flavours.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  4. Pour the spiced mixture over the ice and top with chilled lager beer.
  5. Stir lightly to combine without losing effervescence.
  6. Garnish with a celery stick or lime wedge for added flair.

Lagerita On The Rocks Mixologist Ching Lamngaiching At Aldila, Conrad Pune

Ingredients:

  • Tequila- 45ml
  • Lime Juice- 20ml
  • Cointreau- 15ml
  • Lager Beer- 120ml

Method:

  1. In a shaker filled with ice, combine tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau.
  2. Shake briefly to chill and blend the flavours.
  3. Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice.
  4. Strain the mixture into the glass.
  5. Top with chilled lager beer and stir gently to combine.
  6. Garnish with a lime wheel or a salted rim, as preferred.

Brewcifer By Mixologist Tanisha Bhatia At Simba Beer & ZigZag Vodka

Ingredients:

  • Vodka - 30 ml
  • Coconut Water - 60 ml
  • Sugar - 10 ml
  • Espresso - 1 shot
  • Lager beer - to top
  • Ice - as needed

Method:

  1. Put vodka, coconut water, sugar, and espresso into a chilled glass.
  2. Stir gently and add ice.
  3. Top with Lager beer and serve chilled.

Jungle Jam Mixologist Tanisha Bhatia At Simba Beer & ZigZag Vodka

Ingredients:

  • White Rum - 30 ml
  • Pineapple Juice - 30 ml
  • Lime Juice - 10 ml
  • Ginger Juice - 10 ml (or ¼ piece fresh ginger)
  • Coriander - 3-4 sticks
  • Lager beer - to top
  • Ice - as needed

Method:

  1. Add rum, juices, and coriander to a shaker, and shake vigorously.
  2. Muddle if using fresh ginger
  3. Shake with ice and strain into a glass.
  4. Top with the Lager beer and enjoy chilled.
