We know the first things to come to your mind after reading this are Sattu Paratha and Sattu kachori but you can make a protein drink out of Sattu too. Sattu is proven to be filled with essential nutrients and aid in the cure of numerous ailments too. Workers and farmers consume Sattu porridge that keeps them full and provides them with the energy to work under the sun. From lowering cholesterol, improving digestion to controlling blood sugar levels, Sattu has numerous benefits that are lesser-known to the world. 

Here’s its recipe that you can try. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams chana dal
  • 100 grams flattened rice 
  • 100 grams wheat 
  • 100 grams moong dal
  • 100 grams soybean
  • 2 tsp cardamom powder

METHOD

  1. Dry roast all the ingredients in a heavy-bottomed pan for 5-10 minutes. 
  2. Add all the roasted ingredients to a blender in batches to form a fine powder. 
  3. After it is done, pass the powder through a sieve to remove the coarser parts. 
  4. Store this powder in a jar for further use. 

You can mix this powder along with jaggery or stevia for sweetness with water or milk to have it post-workout or as breakfast. You can also make stuffed parathas or whole wheat kachoris for a healthy and filling lunch.
