There are days we crave biryani and then there are days when we willingly settle for a bowl of dal chawal. But can you remember any day where one of your friends’ suggested ordering in a pizza and you refused? We can’t either. Night or day, rain or shine, a well-made pizza is always a welcome treat. Pizza, as we all know, is an Italian dish which is traditionally made with a flatbread made of a refined flour dough. This bread is then topped with a range of sauces, cheese, herbs, veggies, meat and seasoning. For the longest time, you have been experimenting a fair amount with the toppings. You tried throwing in some pineapple, you tried jackfruit, but have you ever thought of doing away with the flat-round base and baking your pizza in a mug instead? Well, if the internet is to be believed, people can’t help stop gushing about this easy, fuss-free mug recipe. Your pizza, customised your way, but in a mug. Sounds fascinating? Give it a whirl. Here’s a fantastic recipe.  

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup refined flour
  • 1/8th tsp baking powder
  • Half a pinch baking soda  
  • 1 Tbsp neutral flavour oil/olive oil/refined oil
  • 2 tbps milk
  • 2 tbsp pizza sauce
  • 1 tbsp mozarella cheese  
  • Salt to taste
  • Handful of chicken chunks
  • Handful of jalapeno
  • Handful of corn
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • Pinch of oregano

Method:

  1. Grab a microwave safe mug. For safe side, you should go for the biggest mug in your house.  
  2. Add the refined flour.
  3. Now add baking soda, baking powder and salt to taste. Give it a good mix.
  4. Add oil, followed by milk. With the help of a fork, make a nice lump free dough.  
  5. Apply pizza sauce on the top of this dough. Be generous.
  6. Then, throw in the cheese. Be extra generous.
  7. Carefully place the jalapeno, chicken chunks and sweet corns or any other topping of your choice on top of the pizza using your hand.
  8. Sprinkle some oregano and chilli flakes.
  9. Microwave for 2-5 minutes, depending upon your microwave. Bake till cheese melts and the base is cooked.  
  10. Eat while hot.
