The winter season is here and I can’t seem to move away from piping hot foods and beverages. Be it noshing upon soups or treating myself to gajak in the evening, or drooling over rustic non-vegetarian curries for dinner., winter season is all about indulgence to me. But what I love most about it is that it is the time when I can treat my sweet tooth to my most favourite winter beverage- hot chocolate. Call it a ‘peak winter comfort dream’, hot chocolate has been associated with winters and 'snowy days' especially in western countries; but over the years this decadent drink has become a symbol of winter months all over the world now.

Melted chocolate mixed with cocoa powder topped with shaved chocolate or dollops of whipped cream; I cannot say no to this ever. Can you? Add to it a variety of flavors one can experiment with to spruce up the drink- peppermint extract, salted caramel, cinnamon stick or hazelnut chocolate spread, one can also add a splash of alcohol to it too. Aren’t you slurping already? If yes, then we’ve got some of the most amazing hot chocolate recipes for you try at home.
