Insomnia is related to poor sleeping habits or patterns. This might be because of stress, mood swings, depression, anxiety, unhealthy food habits, or lack of exercise. Lack of sleep can chronically raise the risk of dementia. In insomnia, a level of sugar plays a significant role. The critical factor causes sleeplessness due to poor blood sugar control, excess caffeine intake, lack of necessary neurotransmitters, nutrients, and magnesium. Avoid these items at bedtime for good sleep.

1. Spicy Foods

Spicy food items can lead to indigestion and gastrointestinal discomfort, which is also a cause of insomnia. A study has also come up that eating spicy food may increase the body's temperature, interfering with the sleep cycle, and trigger nightmares, causing a brainwave in the mind. Avoid red meat at night and take time to digest; limit your choice of spices and enjoy spicy gravy food at lunchtime.

2. Sugary Foods

Eating sugar gives you energy and makes you ready for activity, but it is not trying to do at night. Sugar levels up the pancreases and releases insulin which fuels the cells to run due to a boost of energy, and that causes an unwanted increase in the rate of heart which results in sleeplessness during the night.

3. Coffee

Start your day with coffee but don’t end your day with coffee. Caffeine has a diuretic effect which increases the frequency energy. At night if you drink caffeine, it urinates. It alerts your body and ruins your night's sleep. Avoid other sources of caffeine or soda items.

4. Citrus fruits

Citrus fruits are high in acidic substances. It is not good at pre-bedtime or before bed. This could cause disturbance during sleep. It is healthier in the daytime rather than having the night before.
