Traditionally called as affogato al caffe, the affogato is an Italian coffee based dessert. A delicious creamy scoop of vannila gelato, dunked in a shot of hot espresso is the delight that is, this dessert. The frozen ice cream in the hot coffee feels like a warm embrace on a beautiful fall afternoon. Originally from Italy, there’s a huge debate amongst Italians as to whether the affogato is a beverage or a dessert. While some restaurants sell it as the former, others sell it as the latter. One doesn’t need to limit oneself to choosing a vanilla scoop when ordering an affogato. You could also ask for various toppings, multiple flavours of ice cream or chocolate syrup atop the coffee.

Someone from the glamour world has taken a liking to this dessert. All of you would remember her as the actresses who played a memorable role of Geeta Phogat, in the movie Dangal.
