  • 2 tablespoons sattu flour 
  • 2 cups water 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon black salt 
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala 
  • A pinch of black pepper 
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish 
  • Ice cubes 


  • In a mixing bowl, add sattu flour, roasted cumin powder, black salt, chaat masala, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the dry ingredients.
  • Gradually add water to the bowl while stirring continuously. Make sure there are no lumps, and all the ingredients are well blended.  
  • Add lemon juice to the mixture and give it a good stir. 
  • Pour the savoury sattu mixture into serving glasses. Add ice cubes if desired.
  • Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves for a burst of freshness and flavour. 
  • Stir the drink gently before serving to ensure all the flavours are evenly distributed.

Sweet sattu drink


  • 2 tablespoons sattu
  • 2 cups chilled milk
  • 2 tablespoons powdered jaggery or sweetener of your choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Sliced almonds or pistachios for garnish (optional)


  • In a mixing bowl, add sattu flour, powdered jaggery or sweetener, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine. 
  • Gradually add chilled milk to the bowl while continuously stirring to avoid any lumps. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Pour the mixture into a blender or use a hand blender to blend it for a smoother consistency. This step is optional, and you can skip it if you prefer a slightly grainy texture.
  • Once blended, pour the sweet sattu mixture into serving glasses. Add ice cubes if desired.
