Baked Goan Prawn Curry: A Classic Recipe With A Twist

Meanwhile, Chef Avinash Martins shared a no-oil recipe on Instagram that is a spin on the traditional Goan prawn curry and calls it a one shell recipe. In the caption he writes, “I make a twist on the classic Goan prawn curry! A no oil, baked coconut curry with all the goodness of fresh ingredients and super foods in a power- packed coconut shell bake! Hope you enjoy watching and making it!”  

In the video, we could see the chef making the recipe meticulously.  

Here are the steps: Mix together some spices: coriander seeds, grated coconut, chiles, cumin, charred onion, and tamarind.  Use a mortar and pestle or a crushed stone to crush the ingredients, and then thin with coconut water to your desired consistency. When finished, sift the paste through a fine sieve.  Put some salt on the prawns and set them aside for a while.  Use the paste to make the gravy.  Take the top of the coconut and fill it with a few prawns. Cover it with dough and press the edges together.  Now put the coconut shell in the preheated oven. The cooking time is roughly 30 minutes.  once done, enjoy the scrumptous oil free prawn curry.
