A Look At Bride-To-Be Sonakshi Sinha's Love Affair With Food

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are reportedly to tie the knot on June 23, 2024, and their fans could not be more excited for them. Pictures from mehandi ceremony and veneration at home have gone viral on the internet and Bollywood now cannot keep calm. Beyond acting, the bride-to-be is known as a painter, wanderer, and a foodie.

Before she decided to tie the knot with her beau Zaheer Iqbal, she had been in love with food. Everyone knows, once a foodie, always a foodie. Ahead of the wedding, here is a look at the bride-to-be's favourite dishes.

Sindhi Kadhi

In an interview, Sonakshi Sinha revealed that she has grown up eating Sindhi and Bihari food. She added that since her mother is a Sindhi, she makes the most delicious Sindhi kadhi. It is prepared by cooking gram flour and curd along with spices like fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, nigella, black mustard seeds, curry leaves, turmeric, red chilli powder, and chopped ginger. It is often served with roti and rice.

Litti Chokha

The actor is a fan of litti chokha as well. She mentioned in the interview that her mother, Poonam Sinha, learnt to cook Bihari food from her grandmother because her father, Shatrughan Sinha, is a Bihari. She loves to devour litti chokha, a staple and pan-India favourite delicacy. It is prepared by filling wheat dough balls with spiced sattu filling and cooked on fire. Chokha is prepared with charred brinjals, garlic, green chillies, tomatoes, and onions. 

Schezwan Cheese Dosa

Schezwan cheese dosa is a part of modern Indian cuisine, which has become an integral part of the Indian street food landscape. In an exclusive interview with Curly Tales, the bride-to-be revealed that when she was studying in college in Mumbai, a makeshift South Indian food stall that used to sell schezwan cheese dosa, and she used to love devouring it.

Mumbai Street Food

In the same interview, Sonakshi Sinha revealed that she has always been an ardent fan of Mumbai street food. From vada pav to pav bhaji, she loves it all. As a true blue foodie, she even loves to indulge in cheese vada pav and cheese pav  bhaji. “I used to gorge on it,” she added. She also likes spicy food because she shared that she used to eat red schezwan noodles. “For the three years that I was in college, I used to have those every day for lunch,” the actor said.

Thai & Chinese Food

Sonakshi Sinha is a fan of Thai and Chinese cuisines. Schezwan dosa and noodles are proof enough. She also cannot have enough rice. She says that people can serve her two mountains of rice, and she would eat it all. She also added that she loves to relish pizza, loaded with cheese and veggies. 

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are reported to host a grand party at Bastian, Mumbai, which is owned by Shilpa Shetty. They will register their marriage at Iqbal’s house post which they will be going to Bastian to enjoy their celeb-studded after-party.
