Vicky Kaushal is known for being an exemplary actor who follows a strict diet and gym routine to stay at the top of his fitness game, but he is a Punjabi at heart. As stereotypical as it may be, the Sam Bahadur actor loves to gorge on delicious Punjabi dishes, street food items, and sugary desserts.

In multiple interviews in the past, Vicky Kaushal has confessed his love for Indian food. From paratha to sev puri, he knows the best spots in cities, especially Mumbai, where you can too try his favourite meals. Here are a few of his favourite dishes that prove Vicky Kaushal is a foodie above all other adjectives that describe him.

Sev Puri And Cheese Chilli Toast

In an interview, Vicky Kaushal shared his favourite spot in Mumbai to eat street food items like sev puri, pani puri, and cheese chilli toast. The actor suggested trying food served by the Gupta Bhelpuri House located in Malad West. Apart from tangy and spicy sev puri and pani puri, you can order other chaat items like dal bhel, kachori bhel, dahi puri, ragda pattice, sukha bhel, etc. The food joint also serves different kinds of sandwiches, rolls, pizzas, garlic bread, and toast.

Paratha For Sunday Brunch

In yet another interview, Vicky Kaushal opened up about dishes that are cooked at his home for Sunday brunch. He prefers paratha served with a cup of hot tea or sweet lassi. The actor also shared that he prefers jaggery in his tea instead of processed sugar or other alternatives. He jokingly revealed that since he married Katrina Kaif in 2019, the couple also enjoys pancakes topped with maple syrup and fresh fruits on Sundays. He refers to them as a variety of paratha only.

Chole Puri

During an interview, Vicky Kaushal was asked about his favourite comfort meal and guess what he said. The actor loves to gorge on chole puri, a traditional North Indian breakfast. Chickpeas are prepared in aromatic spices and gravy of onion and tomatoes and served with fluffy and soft puri. It is a dish that has been a part of Indian culinary heritage for centuries because of the flavourful blend that leaves your taste buds tantalised.

Rajma Chawal

Once Vicky Kaushal was stuck in traffic and conducted an AMA session on Instagram, where a fan asked him to pick between kadhi chawal and rajma chawal. The actor picked rajma chawal, another popular meal option in North India. You can find stalls, street-side food joints, and cloud kitchens selling this lightweight and comforting meal throughout the year.

South Indian Dishes

You will be surprised to know that despite being a Punjabi, Vicky Kaushal’s favour cuisine is not Punjabi but South Indian cuisine. In the same AMA session on Instagram, he captioned dosa, idli, and vada, “yum, yum, yum.”

Momos

Another fan asked the actor whether he would prefer to eat momos or noodles. He responded with momos. Popular between Nepali and Tibetan cuisines, momos made their way into India and the hearts of Indians around 1960. However, in the past few decades, they have become so famous that one can find multiple food stalls and high-end restaurants across cities selling dumplings filled with vegetables and meat along with chilli sauce.
