* Preferred Food
Sometimes you love a particular food so much that you lose the ability to control yourself once you start eating it. This includes foods with high sodium content like pizza, French fries, and some other aerated beverages.
* Emotional eating
Emotional eating is one of the most common causes of overheating. This happens when you eat a lot of food because you want to suppress a certain emotion. For a lot of people, over-eating is like a stress reliever as eating good food makes your brain release endorphins which are also known as happy hormones. This is the reason why a lot of people like eating their favourite food when they feel burnt out and stressed. While doing so, it is not necessary that your body needs that kind of food, but it is just our emotional stress that is making us eat so much.

One of the most common occasions when we eat more food than needed is social gatherings and celebrations. This is because we have a lot of good company and that makes us have a lot of fun. A lot of medicines have stimulants that stifle the capability of the brain to assess whether you are full or not. It is very important to take proper treatment for your overeating problem. Make sure that you try to distract yourself with something that you like doing as soon as you feel hungry for no reason. Get regular exercise and stay hydrated. Instead of eating junk food, try to munch on salads and drink herbal teas. And if the problem has become too serious, then you can seek professional help as well. If you have a problem overeating occasionally at festivals and parties, then you can use antacids to counter the problem of heartburn or acid reflux.
