Cooking Directions

• STEP 1.Cut the tofu into small cubes and deep-fry until golden brown.
• STEP 2.In a saucepan, combine palm sugar, tamarind, chili, and garlic. Cook until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce thickens.
• STEP 3.Place the fried tofu in a serving dish and pour the sauce over it. Serve with steamed rice.

Storage and Serving

• Tahu Gejrot is best served fresh and hot.
• Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
• Reheat in a microwave or on a stovetop before serving.
