• 0.25 inch 2 large leeks rinsed and cut crosswise into slices
• 0.5 inch 2 medium yukon gold potatoes or other waxy potatoes, cut into cubes
• 4 cup Chicken broth or water or vegetable broth
• As required Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
• 0.25 cup Milk or cream
• 0.25 cup Finely chopped fresh chives for garnish
