Bethanys Frito® Pie Recipe

Cooking Directions

• STEP 1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
• STEP 2.In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
• STEP 3.Add the onions and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are translucent.
• STEP 4.Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
• STEP 5.Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and kidney beans to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
• STEP 6.In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer half of the Frito® corn chips. Top with half of the chili mixture and half of the shredded cheese.
• STEP 7.Repeat the layers with the remaining Frito® corn chips, chili mixture, and shredded cheese.
• STEP 8.Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
• STEP 9.Serve the Frito® Pie hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sour cream, if desired.

Cooking Tips

• For extra heat, add a diced jalapeno pepper to the chili mixture.
• You can customize this recipe by adding your favorite toppings, such as diced avocado, sliced black olives, or chopped cilantro.
• Leftover Frito® Pie can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Storage and Serving

• Serve the Frito® Pie hot, straight from the oven.
• Garnish with chopped green onions and sour cream for added flavor.
