Traditionally made using an egg white foam on top—the whiskey sour is classified as a timeless cocktail belonging to the sour cocktail family. When recreating the recipe at home, the shaker can easily be replaced with a mason jar that has a lid to achieve the same effect as a craft cocktail bar.

INGREDIENTS

60 ml bourbon 25 ml fresh lemon juice 15 ml simple syrup 1 egg white (optional) 1 dash Angostura bitters Orange wheel, for garnish

STEP 1

In a mason jar or cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, simple syrup, lemon juice and egg white.

STEP 2

Seal the jar shut with a lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds before adding in the bitters and ice.

STEP 3

Shake again for 10-15 seconds before straining into a serving glass.

STEP 4

Garnish with an orange wheel and serve immediately.
