One of the toughest tasks in the kitchen is to store the peeled garlic. You need to find a method so that your entire refrigerator does not smell like garlic but also increases the shelf life of the vegetable. Here are a few ways you can try out.

Freeze

Spread garlic cloves on a baking sheet and put it in the refrigerator. Once each clove freezes, add all to a freezer bag, and cloves can be saved for 6-12 months.

Olive Oil

If you have to store a handful of cloves, add them to an airtight container with olive oil. Make sure to submerge each clove, and you will be able to save them for 1-2 weeks.

Salt

Salt is a preservative; therefore, grind garlic cloves with salt, add the mixture to a baking sheet, dry in the air, and store in an airtight jar for several months.

Vinegar

If you have apple cider or white vinegar at home, you can submerge garlic cloves in it and refrigerate the jar for up to 1-2 weeks.

Herb Butter

Combine minced garlic with melted or soft butter. Add herbs to the mixture, pour it into a freezer bag, and store it for a week. You can use it while cooking.

Pickling

To store peeled garlic, you can make a pickle out of them. Add them to a jar containing salt, water, spices, and vinegar. It can stay in the fridge for 1-2 months.

Dehydrate

Dehydrate peeled garlic in a food dehydrator and store it in an airtight jar at room temperature. You will be able to save the cloves for many months.
