Originating from Australian fish and chip shops, chicken salt has become a highly sought after seasoning for elevating everyday snacks. This savoury blend combines chicken bouillon powder with garlic, onion, and a hint of paprika to deliver an intense umami punch. Making it at home allows you to control the sodium levels while recreating that addictive savoury flavour. Dust this versatile seasoning generously over hot chips, roasted vegetables, or grilled meats for an instant savoury upgrade.
3 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon onion powder 1 teaspoon celery salt 1 teaspoon sweet paprika 1/2 teaspoon white pepper 1 tablespoon fine sea salt
Ensure all your powdered ingredients are completely dry to prevent the seasoning blend from clumping during storage.
Combine the chicken bouillon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, celery salt, sweet paprika, white pepper, and fine sea salt in a small mixing bowl.
Whisk the mixture vigorously for two minutes until the spices are evenly distributed and uniform in colour.
Transfer the freshly made chicken salt to an airtight shaker jar and store it in a cool pantry for up to three months.
