Ukadiche modak is a traditional sweet believed to be the most favourite of Lord Ganesha. On the occasion of Ganeshotsav, follow this guide to make the treat at home.
1 cup jaggery 2 cups grated coconut ⅛ tsp nutmeg powder 4 green cardamoms 1 tsp ghee A pinch of salt 1 cup rice flour 2 tsp ghee 1 cup water
Knead a dough of rice flour using water, ghee, and a pinch of salt.
Cook coconut, cardamoms, jaggery, ghee, and nutmeg powder.
When the mixture is binding, keep it aside to cool off a bit.
Stuff rice flour dough with jaggery-coconut stuffing and seal in the shape of modaks.
Steam modaks, offer them to Lord Ganesha, and enjoy a burst of flavours in every bite.
