Soya momos are a perfect and healthy twist on the usual momo recipe. It has a filling of soya granules, carrots, onions and more and tastes amazing with a hot sauce dip!
1 cup of all-purpose flour ¼ cup of soya flour ½ tsp of salt ½ cup of soya granules ½ cup of chopped cabbage ½ cup of chopped carrots ½ cup of chopped onions 2 garlic cloves, chopped 1 tsp of ginger ½ tsp of cumin powder ½ tsp of coriander powder Oil, as needed Water, as needed
Mix in all-purpose flour, soya flour, salt, and water to make a smooth dough.
Heat oil in a pan. Start by sautéing onions, garlic, and ginger until golden brown.
Add soya granules, vegetables, and spices to the pan and cook until the mixture is well combined and cooked through.
Divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of the filling in the centre of each circle.
Fold the edges to form a momo shape. Steam the momos in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes or until cooked through.
Serve the soya momos hot with a spicy dipping sauce. Leftover momos can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
