Try This Healthy Makki Da Dhokla Recipe By Rupa Tiwari

You must have tried the classic besan dhokla, but have you tasted the Gujarati snack made with makki ka atta? With this recipe by Rupa Tiwari, you can make makki da dhokla at home and impress your guests.

Ingredients

2 cup makki ka atta 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon carom seeds 1 teaspoon fennel seeds 1 tablespoon lime juice 1/4 teaspoon hing 2 teaspoons crushed coriander seeds 2 teaspoons green chillies 1 teaspoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon grated ginger 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1/4 cup radish greens 1/4 cup chopped spinach 2 tablespoons chopped radish 1/4 cup plain yoghurt

Step 1

Add ingredients to a large bowl. Mix the mixture with your fingers until it is crumbly.

Step 2

Add lukewarm water and knead a soft dough. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts.

Step 3

Shape the dough into balls and flatten them. Make an indentation in the centre of the dough.

Step 4

Heat an idli pan with water. Arrange on the idli steamer and steam for 20-25 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer the dhokla to the serving plate. Drizzle sesame oil over the dhokla and serve.
