Although one wouldn’t typically associate using avocados beyond toasts, smoothies or guacamole, this unique version of the masala dosa uses the ripened fruit but with traditional elements. Enjoy the filling inside a crisp, ghee-laden dosa and serve with chutney and podi.
2 ghee dosas 1 ripe avocado ½ onion, finely chopped ½ tomato, finely chopped 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon urad dal 5-6 curry leaves 1 green chilli, finely chopped Salt, to taste
Mash the ripe avocado in a bowl along with the onion, tomato and coriander.
Heat the coconut oil in a pan and temper the mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, green chilli and salt.
Once it splutters, add it to the mashed avocado mixture, combine with a spoon and use as a filling in hot dosas, chutney and podi.
