Lemon sevai is an excellent choice for breakfast or dinner, and a great alternative to the conventional idli and dosa, if you’re looking for something different.
1 ½ cup idiyappam 1 tbsp lemon juice A pinch of turmeric powder ½ tbsp peanuts Salt, to taste ½ tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp chana dal A few curry leaves 1 small red chilli A pinch of hing
Make idiyappam as per the package instructions and let them cool. Divide into two batches.
Heat the oil in a skillet and add mustard seeds, chana dal, curry leaves, red chilli and hing.
Add peanuts and fry till crispy and the peanuts are golden brown. Add the turmeric powder and hing, and cook for a minute.
Add the idiyappam and salt, then mix briefly. Finally, pour in the lemon juice and turn it off.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or your preferred chutney!
