Try Ghee Podi Idli For A Quick South Indian Breakfast

Ghee podi idli is a delicious South Indian breakfast made by tossing steamed idlis in ghee, spices, and aromatic chutney powder which are also known as mulaga podi.

Ingredients

10-12 mini idlis 3-4 tbsp ghee 3 tbsp podi 10-12 curry leaves 1 tsp mustard seeds A pinch of asafoetida hing

Step 1

Steam fresh idlis or use the leftover ones, cut them into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2

In a pan, heat ghee, temper mustard seeds, curry leaves and a pinch of hing.

Step 3

Lower the heat and add podi to ghee, mix well for a few seconds.

Step 4

Add the idlis to the pan, gently toss them to coat perfectly and then cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Transfer to a plate and garnish with curry leaves or melted ghee.
