Golden fried potatoes tossed in a sweet, spicy, and tangy sauce, chilli potato is that irresistible Indo-Chinese snack everyone loves. Perfect for evenings, whenever you want a burst of bold, mouthwatering flavour!
3 potatoes (cut into fingers) 3 tbsp cornflour 2 tbsp maida (all-purpose flour) 1 tsp soy sauce 1 tbsp tomato ketchup 1 tbsp red chilli sauce 1 tsp vinegar 1 tsp finely chopped garlic ½ tsp chopped ginger 1 cubed onion ½ cubed capsicum 2 slit green chillies Salt & black pepper to taste Oil for frying Spring onions for garnish
Mix potato fingers with cornflour, maida, salt, and a little water to coat evenly.
Deep-fry until golden and crisp; remove and set aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok, sauté garlic, ginger, and green chillies.
Add onion and capsicum; stir-fry for a minute.
Toss the fried potatoes in a flavourful mix of soy sauce, chilli sauce, ketchup, and vinegar, then garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
