Traditional Lohri Dishes to Celebrate the Festival With Warmth

 Lohri celebrations feel incomplete without food that is shared around a bonfire with laughter. From sweet treats to savouries, these dishes represent the spirit of the festival. 

 Makki Di Roti & Sarson Da Saag

Makki rotis are cooked with ghee and paired with slow-cooked sarso. This iconic duo defines the Punjabi celebration of Lohri in truest form.

Til Gud Ladoo

Roasted sesame seed is mixed with jaggery and shaped to make ladoos, delivering a nutty sweetness. It is also traditionally exchanged during the Lohri gatherings.

Gur Ki Rewari

These are crunchy, round-shaped sweets that are made of sesame, jaggery, and ghee. It is shared as a gift with loved ones on the occasion of Lohri.

Gajak

A thin, crispy sweet prepared by thrashing roasted sesame seeds with jaggery. It is loved for its smoky fragrance and crisp texture during the Lohri season.

Pinni

Slow-roasted atta or besan is cooked in ghee with nuts and jaggery and rolled to make rich laddoos that feel indulgent and celebratory in every bite.

Gud Ki roti 

is a traditional winter flatbread made with whole wheat flour and jaggery, slow-cooked on a tawa, offering warmth, natural sweetness, and comforting festive flavour.
