Traditional Indian Aanwale Ka Murabba Recipe That Cannot Be Missed

Aanwale ka murabba or gooseberry reserve is a traditional sweet and tangy delicacy made by preserving amla in sugar syrup. It has numerous healthy benefits and is enjoyed as a side dish with meals or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

500g amla 2 cups sugar 2 cups water 1/2 tsp cardamom powder A pinch of saffron

Step 1

Wash and prick amla with a fork, boil in water for 5-7 minutes until soft, drain the water and set aside.

Step 2

Take a pan, mix sugar, water and heat until the sugar dissolves, forming a syrup.

Step 3

Add boiled amla syrup, cook on low heat until they absorb the syrup and become translucent.

Step 4

Mix in cardamom and saffron for extra flavour and let it cool completely.

Step 5

Transfer to a jar and store it in a cool place.
