Gujiya is the heart of Holi celebrations, filling the kitchen with the festive aroma of khoya, coconut, and cardamom, sealed inside a crisp maida covering, deep-fried till golden, and lightly coated in sugar for that nostalgic bite everyone waits for year after year.
For dough 2 cups maida 3 tbsp ghee Water as needed For filling 1 cup grated khoya ¼ cup desiccated coconut ¼ cup powdered sugar ½ tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped nuts
Mix maida and ghee, add water gradually to form a stiff dough, then rest for 15 minutes.
Combine khoya, coconut, sugar, cardamom, and nuts in a bowl.
Roll small discs, fill with mixture, and seal edges tightly.
Deep-fry on medium heat until evenly golden.
Cool slightly and store airtight or serve warm for Holi.
