Tomato Murukku: Crunchy South Indian Bites To Pair With Chai

South Indian murukku is the best pairing with tea. Not only is it delicious, but the crunchy texture complements the hot beverage. It will satisfy your cravings during tea time without killing your appetite for dinner. Follow this recipe.

Ingredients

3 ripe tomatoes 1 cup rice flour 2 pinches of hing Oil for deep frying 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp red chilli powder 1 tsp sesame seeds Salt as needed ½ cup besan

Step 1

Puree tomatoes and strain the blend to get rid of seeds. Strain the water to extract the pulp.

Step 2

Mix the rest of the ingredients with this concoction.

Step 3

Knead a soft dough and add it to the murukku machine.

Step 4

Press the dough through the machine and shape it into murukkus.

Step 5

Gradually drop murukku into hot oil and cook until they are crispy.

Step 6

Store them in airtight containers and enjoy the snack.
