Tasty & Healthy Besan Chilla Recipe For Home Cooks

Consuming dishes that are light and healthy keeps the body and mind at ease. Making besan chillas for breakfast can be a great option. Chillas are usually made with lentil paste or gram flour paste in North Indian homes. This besan chilla recipe is quick and takes no more than 15 minutes.

Ingredients

160 grams of  besan powder Green chillies as per taste 50 grams of finely chopped onions 50 grams of finely chopped tomatoes ¼ tablespoons of turmeric powder ¼ tablespoons of red chilli powder ¼ tablespoons of baking powder ½ teaspoon of carom seeds 220 ml of water Salt to taste

Step 1

Take a bowl. Add besan powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, baking powder, carom seeds and salt. Give it a gentle stir a few times.

Step 2

Start adding water little by little. Keep mixing to avoid the formation of lumps until a smooth consistency.

Step 3

Put it in the green chillis, tomatoes and onions. Mix. Keep it aside.

Step 4

Switch on the heat. Place a pan or tawa on top. Add a tablespoon of oil. Use a ladle to pour batter onto the surface.

Step 5

Fry on low heat until golden brown. Take it off the pan and set on a plate.

Step 6

Serve with curry, chutney or pickles.
