Mango sambar is a tangy and delicious South Indian dish made with raw mango and lentils. The sourness of the mango perfectly blends with aromatic spices and sambar powder, giving a unique twist to the traditional sambar
1 diced raw mango, diced 1/2 cup toor dal 1 tbsp sambar powder 1 chopped onion 1 chopped tomato 1-2 slit green chillies 1 tsp tamarind paste 2 tbsp oil 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 sprig curry leaves Salt to taste
Pressure cook toor dal with water and mash.
Cook diced mango, onion, tomato, and green chillies until soft and add sambar powder.
Mix dal with mango mixture, adjust water, simmer and add tamarind and salt.
Temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves and dried red chillies.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
