Tahura carries a rich, festive feel with soaked nuts, seeds, and milk blended into a thick, slightly grainy drink. Sweetness from dates and nuts balances the chilled milk, making it deeply nourishing and satisfying.
2 tbsp soaked almonds 2 tbsp soaked cashews 1 tbsp poppy seeds (khus khus) 2 tbsp melon seeds 4 seedless dates 2 cups milk 2 tbsp sugar ½ tsp cardamom powder
Soak almonds, cashews, and poppy seeds for 4-5 hours until soft.
Grind soaked nuts, melon seeds, and dates into a thick, smooth paste.
Heat milk slightly, then let it cool to lukewarm or chilled.
Mix the paste into milk with sugar and cardamom powder.
Chill well and serve thick, nutty tahura topped with crushed nuts.
