Tadgola Ice Cream Recipe: A Refreshing Ice Apple Summer Dessert

Also called the ice apple or palmya, this natural coolant helps to regulate body temperature during the heat. Ice apple ice cream is unusual yet tastes delicious!

Ingredients

125ml of milk ½ tbsp of corn flour 1 tbsp milk powder 4 tbsp of sugar 3 tbsp of cream 3 to 4 ice apples or tadgolas Rose syrup, optional

Step 1

Separate ½ cup of milk and set aside. Boil the remaining milk on low heat for 3-4 minutes, then add the sugar and whisk thoroughly.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix the milk with milk powder and corn flour. Stir until smooth and free of lumps.

Step 3

Add this mixture to the boiling milk. Cook on a low flame, stirring continuously for 3–4 minutes until slightly thick.

Step 4

Remove from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature. Transfer to an airtight jar and chill for 2–3 hours.

Step 6

Peel the tadgola (ice apple), slice it into small pieces, and chill for about an hour. Blend the cold mixture with chopped tadgola.

Step 7

Add malai to a mixer grinder set to whip mode. Pour into a container, cover tightly, and freeze for 3-4 hours to set.

Step 8

Serve cold and garnish with tadgola pieces or rose syrup.
