Halwa, the rich dessert, can be made with a wide range of vegetables and flours. During this changing season, you can make the most of shakarkandi by making sweet potato halwa. Follow these steps.
500 grams sweet potatoes 200 grams sugar 100 grams ghee 4-5 green cardamom pods A pinch of saffron Chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews, raisins)
Boil the sweet potatoes. Peel and mash them thoroughly. Set aside.
Heat some ghee and cook mashed potatoes till golden brown.
Add sugar and stir till it dissolves. Mix in crushed cardamom and saffron.
Garnish with chopped dry fruits and relish the sweet potato halwa.
