This sweet potato halwa is a quick, comforting dessert. Caramelised jaggery, roasted nuts, and fragrant cardamom transform simple boiled sweet potatoes into a warm, gluten-free indulgence perfect for festive offerings, family gatherings, or cosy winter cravings.
500g sweet potatoes 3 tbsp ghee 150-200g grated jaggery ¼ cup milk 1 tsp cardamom powder 2 tbsp chopped nuts (cashew, almond) Pinch of salt
Roast or boil sweet potatoes until soft, then peel and mash them smoothly.
Heat ghee in a pan, add cardamom and a pinch of salt.
Add mashed sweet potato, and sauté till the moisture reduces.
Mix in jaggery and milk, then cook until it melts and thickens.
Stir in nuts, finish with a little ghee, and serve warm.
