As the mercury rises, many people experience acidity issues. It is quite common if you are not taking care of your diet or eating not-so-summer-friendly ingredients. Here are some foods to avoid in summer to keep acid reflux at bay.

Chillies

Eating spicy food in summer is like inviting acidity and discomfort for your digestive system. You should consume chillies in moderation.

Tea/ Coffee

Caffeine is known to worsen acidity. The worst thing you can do is consume tea or coffee on an empty stomach in the morning.

Garlic

Garlic is also acidic. No matter how much you like its flavour and aroma, you must consume it in limited quantities in summer.

Alcohol

Alcohol in a large amount can lead to acidity in the body because it causes mucosal damage. Hence, you need to keep a check on the amount.

Chocolate

Chocolate might be your favourite, but cocoa powder is acidic. It can lead to discomfort in your stomach and lead to acid reflux.

Fried Foods

Potato chips, French fries, cheese, and other fried foods are among the leading causes of acidity in summer. Try to avoid them and fat intake.

Carbonated Drinks

Soda in carbonated drinks creates an imbalance in your stomach. Therefore, you must not overdo these as a means to find respite from the hot weather.
