Ram laddu is a popular North Indian street snack made from coarsely ground chana dal and bold spices. Deep-fried till crisp, it delivers fiery heat, rough texture, and irresistible crunch.
1 cup chana dal 2 tbsp rice flour 1 tsp finely chopped ginger 1 tsp finely chopped garlic 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp cumin seeds Salt, to taste Oil, for deep frying
Soak chana dal for 2 hours, drain completely, and grind coarsely without adding water.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and mix in the rice flour, spices, ginger, garlic, coriander, and salt until evenly combined.
Shape small round laddus using slightly wet hands for smooth binding.
Heat the oil on a medium flame and fry the laddus in batches until they are deeply golden and crisp.
Drain well and serve hot as a street-style snack with tea or chutney.
