Mumbai street food scene extends beyond pani puri, and frankie is the humble snack that you cannot miss trying. To transport yourself to the lanes of Mumbai, here’s a quick recipe to make a frankie.
1 roti 1 tbsp oil 1 potato 2 tbsp red chilli powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp coriander powder 1 tbsp black salt 1 tbsp anardana powder 3 tbsp amchur powder 1 tbsp cumin powder 1 tbsp garam masala Salt to taste Chopped coriander leaves Readymade green chutney
Make the frankie masala by mixing mashed potatoes and adding all the spices.
Shape the potato mixture into patties and pan-fry till golden brown.
Take a freshly prepared roti and spread green chutney.
Place the aloo patty on the roti, garnish with coriander leaves, and roll tightly.
Toast the frankie for a few seconds to make it extra crispy. Cut in half and serve.
